A native of Japan, Kaori met her Singaporean husband, How Chuang, at an International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) East Asia Regional Conference held in the Philippines. After corresponding for several years, they both went to study at Regent College in Vancouver, Canada. She joined BCC when they were married in 1995. After their first term in Japan in 2002, they spent four years in the USA to do further study at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, while reaching out to the Japanese expatriate community.

 

Over the years, their ministry has involved theological education, church planting, community outreach, education, counselling, and student ministry.

 

In 2015, How Chuang was promoted to glory after fighting with cancer. Kaori continues to serve in Japan with their young daughter, Airi, through friendship evangelism, counselling, and teaching ministries. Kaori seeks to “glorify God by building His church through promoting wholeness in Christ, sharing the gospel with the unreached, and equipping the saints for service.”
